For many years I had a first world war soldier be close to me from the Spirit world in fact it was on the 6th November 1981 that through the gift of automatic writing… he gave me these words… on this Armistice Sunday I share them with you: ---- ‘SOLDIER LAMENT’ Oh would it have been that time hadn’t come, To be taken from this greener land, And oh in that time of fighting and War, A mutual amnesty called. For then my dear precious, My years wouldst fulfil, Of the closeness in physical being, And being so close, To what cherished I most, In seclusion with you not demeaning. But alas my dear Father, He outstretched his arms, And whispered so quietly within, And then with his light, Of love he shone hence, Enveloping me to his presence. Oh ‘twer that six months, When ere that we met, And walked hand in hand by the river, Until that day when, For my country was beckoned, To fight, duty done, then God beckoned.
