For most situations that the Ummah faces, there is no *single* - TopicsExpress

For most situations that the Ummah faces, there is no *single* right response or course of action. Rather, there is a spectrum of permissible responses, some of which are more effective in some areas, and less effective in others. And there are grey areas which are problematic, and then there are the clearly haram responses. It is of the mercy of Allah that the Ummah does not all respond in the same manner to each incident. And it is a sign of wisdom in a person that he realizes and appreciates the spectrum of legitimate responses, and doesnt consider the response that *he* has chosen to be the *only* response. Sadly, that wisdom is lacking in many, many emotional Muslims. I believe that my response is the wisest (or else I wouldnt do it!), but I allow other duat and scholars their responses, as long as it is legitimate in the Shariah; and I acknowledge the possibility that my response might not be the wisest, and the response of someone else is. And perhaps the Ummah benefits from multiple responses - some doing one course of action, and others doing another course of action. In the end, only Allah always knows best, and He will judge based, not on results, but on sincerity and effort
