For my Lexi, who goes to bed with a broken heart tonight. Im proud of her for standing up for herself, even though it caused an incredible hurt. Its a shame people are so busy placing blame on others that they cant see the faults within themselves. Some want to spout off about Karma,and how the person that has wronged them will be wronged in return. I wonder if they ever stop to think that maybe they are left to live their miserable lives alone, because of their own bad karma that THEY have created? I, personally, dont believe in Karma. I believe in God....a God who knows our hearts, knows our hurts, hears our unspoken prayers, and leads us down a different path, away from people who arent capable of loving anyone but themselves. Although this change in direction can be hard and cause pain, the end result is far more rewarding because it is the path that He has chosen for us. Love hurts down to our very souls at times, but you cant let it paralyze you. You have to keep putting one foot in front of the other, even through the hurt, in order to see what beauty lies ahead of you. This isnt her first broken heart, and may not be her last, but my hope for her is that she uses this heartache to recapture her self-worth and that its a reminder that there are people out there who do truly love her. I hope she never gives up on the magic of true love that God has waiting for her.
