For my facebook friend Mark Hubbell. He and I were roommates our freshman year at the University of Montana. He thought I was weird, but he was not the first. But in spite of all that, we became friends. He was the first to introduce me to the sublime beauty of the Moody Blues. He would spend hours playing their records and sharing with me certain segments in a song he felt were either notable or outstanding. After we both left Missoula, the Moody Blues came out with this song, Blue Guitar. I am sure Mark has heard it. But I heard it again today. I think I know why this music so resonated with us. Because it perfectly captures and expresses in song and emotion, both the mystery and enchantment we felt all around us while were at school in Missoula, Montana. Its funny, anyone I have ever met who has gone to University there says there is something special and magical about that place. They feel it even though they cannot always express it in words. So for those who have never been to Missoula, here is a little window into that bit of magic and the immeasurable beauty, poetry and presence of place that has so claimed Mark, myself, Br. Christian Sorensen and others. youtube/watch?v=2oNXdv8S4QY
