For my golfing friends - - - A couple I know is on a cruise which includes a couple of days in Antarctica. I hope they dont mind me sharing one of the highlights of their trip - - - We accomplished something few couples have ever done. We played golf on our 7th continent. The conditions were a little icy, but we hit a ball with a collapsible club Jim had brought along specifically for this purpose, and we called it golf. Photos will be submitted to all the appropriate publications. Once the other golfers on the trip heard about this, there was clamoring for use of the club, so Jim was the most popular guy in Neko Harbour. Some Aussie took a mighty swing and actually hit a ball up the mountain way past where anyone could walk up to get it. Feeling guilty about losing our yellow ball, he bought us a very nice Antarctica pen in the gift shop. We definitely got the better end of that deal, and some penguin got a real treasure to take to his sweetie to add to their nest.
