For one of my Masters classes, I had to write about discrimination in business practices. According to one study, 5000 of the exact same resumes were sent out to companies in major metropolitan areas, just with different names. Resumes with names like Emily or Brad received 50% more call backs than Jamal or Lakisha, even though the resumes were the same.... Makes me wonder what companies see when they see Maurice, it literally means dark skinned. Lol. Ohh yeah. And women still make like 20-30 cents less per every dollar than men earn. And guess what? This week, Congress again DID NOT PASS the Paycheck Fairness Act. How do we fix this?
