At 5:30pm only light to moderate rainfall was being observed within the warning area. Heavy rainfall at times is possible between Rockhampton and Bundaberg about the coast and adjacent ranges over the next several hours. Synoptic situation A major upper low pressure system lying over the interior of the state is slowly drifting east south-east while the surface low/trough will remain relatively stationary over the interior of the state. Widespread 24 hour rainfall totals of 30-60mm are expected with isolated totals over 100mm possible. Thunderstorms have been observed over parts of the Queensland coast during today with locally heavy falls. Isolated falls in excess of 120mm are possible with thunderstorms. Damaging wind gusts of around 90 km/h are also possible with thunderstorms. Locations which may be affected include Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Hervey Bay, Fraser Island, Hervey Bay waters and Yeppoon. Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Central Coast and the Central Highlands and Coalfields, and so the Severe Weather Warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
