For some doors to open some doors must be shut first. Im taken to the doors at the banking halls. Open the first, close the first and wait for the second one to open. There is a delay between the closure of the first and the opening of the second. Ive seen this to be a good representation of doors in life. There will come a time when many doors must be closed first. The closing and opening of doors isnt really a problem. The problem is in waiting. With the doors behind you closed and the ones in front of closed as well. Being in between closed doors can be a daunting task, frustrating and discouraging. It will often lead one to be tempted to turn back to the doors that one is certain of. It happened to the children of Israel, the doors from bondage in Egypt had been closed but the doors to the promised land were also closed and there was doubt or uncertainty about the ability of the doors to the promised land being opened. They desired to go back. It often happens to us as well. Were tempted to go back when all doors seem shut especially the ones in front of us. But He is faithful He who has promised. He promises that if we persevere and faint not, we shall reap in due season. Did not command us to be strong and courageous? He is with us wherever we go. Lets not lose hope because certain doors that we desired to open in 2014 did not open. Let us hold fast to his promises knowing that whenever the Lord sends his word it will not return to Him void but it will accomplish that which he has sent it forth for. The period in waiting can be a dry and arid place but be strong and stay obedient to the word of the Lord.
