For some folks, being responsible for their personal safety is a scary proposition. However, it is the only viable solution to violent crime because the courts have consistently ruled that safety is NOT the job of the government. Thus, unless you are willing to protect yourself, you have chosen victimization by default. You currently have the freedom to safeguard your family; use it. Pay no mind to the activists who would rather that you be defenseless and dependent. In fact, some of them are statutorily ineligible to own a gun. They insult and impugn your character by assuming that you cant handle the grave responsibility of firearm ownership. The truth is that they are guilty of projection; they cant handle it so they assume that you cant either. Be armed. Be safe.
