For some reason absence of evidence is not evidence of absence - TopicsExpress

For some reason absence of evidence is not evidence of absence gives me the BIGGEST ITCH. As Sunn has noticed.lol I speak with theists and agnostics often and that quote is the one that makes me twitch. Unless were talking about a murder or crime, I dont get it. Absence of evidence is indeed evidence of absence until evidence shows otherwise. My stance is: We dismiss Smurfs, Leprechauns, ghosts, BigFoot, etc due to LACK of evidence for their existence. How is a god any different? -Mark Allen Bialik That which is submitted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. - Christopher Hitchens. In which instance is (*no proof against it being real therefore doesnt mean it isnt real*) this thinking process null and void? If you believe the quote to be sufficient. When and where is the line drawn and why?
