For ten years I have been honored to play in occasional services at Neighborhood Church in Pasadena in a wonderful and rewarding collaboration with The Rev. Dr. Jim Nelson. Jim is retiring this year and this Sunday will be our swan song. The service will be based on Saint Francis and the Sow, a poem by Galway Kinnell. Ill be joined by Garret Lang on bass, Sam Gendel on alto, Bill Bing on trumpet, and Max Wrightson on drums. Services are at 9:30 and 11:30. The church is at 301 N. Orange Grove in Pasadena. Hope youll consider coming. And heres to a New Year filled with grace, in all the ways we need it. J
