For the Church: that we may manifest each day the work of faith, the labor of love, and the endurance of hope that is ours as God’s people For the grace of discernment: that we may recognize the various motives in our hearts and respond to those that come from the Holy Spirit For Wisdom: that God will guide us in fulfilling our civic responsibilities without compromising our discipleship and service of God For all government officials and employees: that they may wisely use their offices to promote justice and well being for all people For civic leaders in places of unrest: that they may recognize the dignity of each person and work to establish just policies in their communities For all who serve in mission territories: that God will strengthen their spirits and help them to be effective witnesses to the Gospel For conversion from violence: that the Spirit of God will lead our minds and hearts to new efforts to resolve conflicts and disputes through dialogue and understanding For all who are seeking employment: that God will give them strength and help them find opportunities to use their skills and talents For the leaders of all nations: that God will inspire them to resolve the current financial issues and give them courage to act on these insights For all who suffer from domestic violence: that God will open opportunities for movement to safety and bring healing to their wounds For all who have mental or emotional illness: that God’s healing love will touch and renew them and sustain them along life’s journey For all who serve our nation: that God will watch over them, preserve them from harm and bring them safely home For all who working to curtail the Ebola virus epidemic: that God will inspire their actions to promote health and safety for all people and give them strength to continue their efforts
