For the first 30 years of my life I believed in democracy and that - TopicsExpress

For the first 30 years of my life I believed in democracy and that my vote would count if I voted for those who represented my beliefs and interests. The second 30 years has been characterised by a growing awareness and cynical view that it doesnt make a damn bit of difference and there are few politicians with integrity that represent me. Certainly none of the major parties. Like so many I now believe what is the point of voting in a General election. Democracy is a sham manipulated by the real power behind the political throne engineered by the few for the interests of the few. BUT on September the 18th I have the opportunity to exercise my vote in a genuinely democratic vote that CAN make a difference. I can vote for a change that offers me hope for the future and a change in the political landscape where once again I can feel my future votes can make a difference. I hope and I pray (yes I will pray) that enough people will share my view and vote to remove the cancer that is destroying our society bit by bit and offer us some hope and optimism for my future and that of my (now grown up) children. VOTE YES!
