For the first time in the last half century, an American President is refusing to negotiate with Congress in order to responsibly raise the debt limit. You read that correctly: President Obama is risking the full faith and credit of the United States because he’s refusing to have a conversation in order to find a responsible way to raise the debt limit. It’s unprecedented. According to a recent CBS poll, 75% of Americans disapprove of the Obama/Reid hardline, outside the mainstream position to raise the debt limit without conditions. In fact, the same CBS poll shows that only 23% of Americans, a micro-minority, agree with the Democrats’ demand.
