"For the first time since Cory Schneider was traded away from the Canucks, Roberto Luongo has broken his silence. Luongo has given an exclusive interview to TSN’s James Duthie, which will air in two parts over the weekend. According to Duthie, Luongo remains uncertain about his future in Vancouver. In fact, he said that as recently as May he was in discussions with the NHLPA to void his 12-year, $64 million contract. That contract has nine years and $40.5 million left on it. Luongo said he talked about leaving, but it was like a bad divorce where he was suddenly wanted back. The hockey star also said he broke down after not being traded away from Vancouver, and then blacked out when the team traded Schneider Luongo is now back as the Canucks starting goaltender as Vancouver traded Schneider to the New Jersey Devils at the NHL Entry Draft. Luongo’s career has been a confusing road to follow over the past couple of years. In fact, last summer he was so sure that he was about to be traded that he listed his $4.2 million downtown Vancouver condo for sale (seriously: Take a look at it. The images are stunning).
