For the innocent people of Gaza. Over the new year 2009-2010, an international group of 1500 men and women from 42 nations went to Egypt to join a Freedom March to Gaza. They did this to protest the current blockade of Gaza. To protest the fact that the people of Gaza live in a virtual prison. To protest the terror attacks by Israeli armed forces Nobody deserves to be oppressed and robbed of all their collective and individual rights. It is the ultimate form of oppression which has denied an entire people of its identity, its land, its culture and the ability to sustain itself. This is what Israel has left to the Palestinians, this is the meaning of the bombing of Gaza, the terrorizing of the West Bank – and the ongoing destruction of Bedouin and Palestinian homes within Israel.
