For the lovely people who sent me messages about Raiju; I met Raiju yesterday , he may be the tallest elephant I have ever seen, what a handsome old man ! He looks good, he had a very large space and his own pool. The team here at wildlife sos are doing a wonderful job here with him including the mahouts and the vets. I saw the chains they took off him as you would have seen in the videos, and held them and nearly cried, the number of them, the weight and the awful spikes, awful. They are nowhere near where he is. He is in very tender loving hands here and we all hope it will stay that way. He very happily munched on some watermelon and bananas we gave him!
