For the most part, I have avoided posting my thoughts and feelings - TopicsExpress

For the most part, I have avoided posting my thoughts and feelings about Israel and the current world situation. However, this link was shown to me this morning and I feel that I need to speak up. I find the fact that a Student body president of a major midwest university could stoop to using a challenge that is designed to help people as a symbol for protesting about a political situation to be abhorrent. More than that, I feel as though this is indicative of the a significant portion of college-age students and worry about the long term ramifications of the continued rhetoric about Israel being an occupying nation. These students are the future leaders of this country. And there notion of moral right and wrong is scary. To people who might be naysayers to my long post, understand that I am well aware of the arguments for and against claiming Israel to be occupying another nation. I want to suggest that instead of getting into the nitty gritty details of an argument that cannot be won, I would rather look at the bigger global picture. If todays college students are only being taught about Israel in a negative light, without the balance of good, such as the tremendous amount of technological and scientific innovation that comes from the country, I fear for the future relationship of Israel and the US. truthrevolt.org/news/ohio-univ-student-body-prez-dumps-bucket-blood-herself-target-israel-ice-bucket-challenge
