For the past 8 years I have been judging Penn State Mock Trial. For the past several years, Penn States Mock Trial Club has run the Happy Valley Invitational, where colleges from all over the northeast compete. This Sunday I got to judge two trials. My experience judging mock trial has given me the opportunity to establish a courtroom demeanor. To sum it up, I treat all litigants respectfully and I seek to educate litigators as to the proper interpretation of the law so that they learn from the experience. At the same time, I encourage litigants to get to the point and not waste the courts time.
