For the past few days, Social Media is buzzing with reports maligning Aamir Khan (Indian actor, not the Pakistani boxer) accusing him of jumping a queue at a Chennai airport and yet, having the audacity to preach civility on his TV Show Satyamev Jayate. Ill start by saying that I am no Aamir Khan fan. I consider him an above- average actor (though hes much better than both Salman & SRK but far behind Irrfan & Nawaz). And I lost all respect for Aamir the person when he ran in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Torch relay, turning down the repeated requests of Free Tibet groups. Plus, preaching civility yet being best friends with the bratty Salman Khan is pure hypocrisy on Aamirs part. And I was highly dissapointed by the only episode of his TV show Satyamev Jayate (from season 1) that I saw which was on caste discrimination in which they paid tribute to MK Gandhi (a casteist) in the end but there was not once a single mention of Dr. BR Ambedkar. And Aamir has till date remained silent on LGBT rights issue (so as to not annoy his conservative Muslim fan base) Aamir surely is no Paragon of Virtue as he Markets himself as. However, the recent Queue jumping allegation put on him is coming from the Right-wing page SHANKHNAAD which is run by Hindutva Zealot Dr. Subramanian Swamy (not the parody account) The credibility of Shankhnaad & Subu Swami are well known. Plus, since Aamir Khan happens to be a Muslim and has in the past made it clear that hes devout and practices no other religion (unlike Salman & SRK who have often been seen performing many Hindu pujas/rituals in real life) so I clearly feel that the recent allegations on Aamir are untrue & Shankhnaad is most probably running a hate campaign against Aamir because of his religious beliefs.
