For the past several months, I have started each prayer in the morning with at least one thing I am grateful for. When Riley was diagnosed with cancer, that one thing changed to being thankful we had him with us each day. Today I would like to make the rest of my thanks public, because you are all a part of my daily thanks. I am thankful for the beautiful day He has given us to. I am thankful for the friends and family He has surrounded us with to support us. I am thankful for the compassion of strangers and acquaintances who have gone out of their way to do something special to bring a smile to Rileys face. I am thankful for the teachers, friends and family that watched over Ryan when we werent able to be there for him. I am thankful for the doctors, nurses and all of the other staff that have taken care of Riley with such tenderness and care. I am thankful to my husband who has been beside my side every step of the way and held me when I needed it and left me alone when I needed it. And last, but definitely most importantly of all, I am thankful to my Lord, who has -- despite my unworthiness, showered my family with miracle after miracle. I am humbled by how every need we have had has been met, often even before we were aware we had a need. I am filled with his love and awestruck at his grace. Wherever you are, whatever your circumstance, I am thankful for YOU and the role you play in my life. Happy Thanksgiving!
