For the past several years on Veterans Day I have tried to do something nice for a military stranger to thank them for their service. They are normally fairly easy to pick out especially since some from the older generations often wear a hat that represents the branch in which they served. I looked all over the restaurant tonight and could not find anything to give me a clue. Finally, I spotted an elderly man eating with his daughter. I asked the waitress for their bill and slipped away before I was caught. I really dont know if he was in the service and I know I couldve asked but didnt want them to know it was me. Hopefully I didnt confuse them to much and if nothing else he felt good knowing someone was thinking of him. They were a cheap date though only $17.00 lol. If he did indeed serve, I feel I owe him so much more for his service to me. Thank you just doesnt seem adequate.
