For the past three days in Botswana, we were inundated in a plague of giant bugs. They were all over the roads and you had to zig zag thru to avoid bending your rim or suffering retribution from an angry mob if you hit one. I dont have a picture but if you Google Botswana giant killer man eating crickets Im sure theyll come up. Anyhow, the lunch truck happened to set up in one of their local hangouts along the road today. When I went to get back on my bike it was covered in them as well as my open backpack. About an hour later as Im careening down the road at warp speed I noticed two black hairs poking over the front of my visor of my helmet. I watched cross eyed thinking some threads had come loose when the giant legs appeared and the huge bug crawled over the edge onto my sunglasses. You never saw a cyclist dismount and strip naked along the side of the road so fast in your life!
