For the second time in a week, I saw a film that would be worth - TopicsExpress

For the second time in a week, I saw a film that would be worth sitting down afterwards and discussing with a group. Maybe for hours. In Selma, the bottom line for Martin Luther King Jr. was that Americans were denied the right to vote, and thus were denied the ability to direct even a small part of their destiny, because they were black. Yet their response was non-violent protest. With seldom an unkind word spoken. And this was over life and destiny. I, on the other hand, cant stop complaining, and loudly, when a restaurant cant make me a proper grilled cheese. Small wonder itd be if my black friends were in no hurry to stand with them on anything important. For most of my life, I didnt know I needed to. For the last several years, I didnt know how. And all this time, racism didnt go away; it just spread out to affect more people in less obvious ways. I never look for a movie to change people. But sometimes one, like this one, gets through to me. Are you like me, in that way?
