For the very first time…ever…I am growing facial hair… Along with many wonderful moments, this year has brought with it trials and misfortunes…as every year does. Two weeks ago, we tragically & suddenly lost a great mate and one of my original Domain crew, (he’s been training with me for 17 years) Hercules Hernandez (Adam Weir). It rocked my world – not one of us had any idea there was anything wrong. Earlier this year, I’d already had my world rocked heavily. It was only for a thorough & awesome Urologist (Dr JUSTIN VASS) and his absolute genius surgical abilities that I came out the other side 100%. (Justin, you’re a bloody life saver…literally) And so began the start of my journey to a soup-strainer… MOVEMBER has a new entry this year in “Team Warrior”. Now, I’m not used to coming last (I currently am in our team), and we are in there to kick butt and raise some serious funds. Go and check out Team Warrior when you have a moment… au.movember/team/1739549 Lastly, there’s a couple of other things... 1. Bloody well get yourself checked. ..and by that, I mean the DRE test. I had NO symptoms, my PSA levels were not alarming. Justin insisted (as he always has) on a DRE test – that’s the only reason we got it early and were able to have it treated. 2. Get fit & eat right. Helps your body, helps your mind. Keep your body sweating and your diet clean. 3. Speak up. If things don’t feel right, if you’ve got a problem, if you’ve got an issue, reach out. To someone…to anyone. I received the most incredible support during my journey, and encourage anyone; EVERYone trying to deal with adversity by themselves to reach out because we’ll all be there for you. 4. Donate. It’s not a matter of how much, it’s that everyone does their bit. Hopefully one day people will stop suffering from cancer and mental illness. What an amazing world it could be.
