For these reasons Im quitting CAES; I was informed that my dear friend Lorna Moffat, co-founder of CAES, IMO, was treated cruelly by CAES Directors. While making a routine call to one of the directors Lorna was informed that she had been removed from the board and a certified letter was on its way. This action was hurtful. Lorna wasnt given due process and CAES didnt follow their own by-laws, which specify that all directors be given notice in the event of their removal. The only reason they gave her was, they thought she worked better alone. IMO, this is bogus! Ive known Lorna since 06 and worked with her directly, I never found her unreasonable, only easy going with a high passion for ending horse slaughter. Lorna would like to see the 2,500. she raised for the lawsuit that never happened, to be returned to the donors. Lorna donated 1,500. of her own money. She feels that funds will not be returned. I cannot support a group who treats one of their own with such disrespect and harming anothers character for their own selfish reasons. I feel CAES wont succeed because integrity and honor is a crucial part in winning the case against horse slaughter.
