For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does. (1 Peter 4:6 ESV). Our goal is to move through this life while actively participating in the kingdom of God regardless of the consequences. We exist in the physical world with the anticipation of joining God in the spiritual one. So then a new heaven and a new earth and yes a new spiritual body are in store for all who believe in Jesus. Why then do we have such an eversion to living as Jesus did? We are called to live like Him, suffer like Him, and even die like Him (1 John 2:6) yet so few of us do so! So few truly dedicate their lives to true servanthood, being willing to suffer for His name sake and serving and forgiving everyone who offends or hurts us. We are called to be swallowed up by eternal life (2 Corinthians 5:4) so then why do many end up living lifestyles where complaining, arguing, worry and gossip are permissible when in fact we should cast those things aside in favor of what is true, noble, peaceful and right.
