For those of you in East Fayetteville who have asked me about why Township is closed. Here you go: A 1-mile stretch of Township Street between Old Wire and Crossover roads will close to traffic for two weeks starting Monday while city crews repave the street. Drivers who don’t need to access Township are asked to go around the construction site using Old Wire Road. Work will begin at 6 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. weekdays, according to a news release. The Township Street parking lot at Gulley Park will be closed during work hours, but will be open for Thursday’s Gulley Park Summer Concert Series performance.
