For those of you who came out last Saturday to help out and those that fed our hungry masses, thank you! We made great progress but still have more to do. This Sunday (May 18th) we will be holding another work day from 9 AM to 4 PM and could use the help in the following areas: Volunteers with wood working skills are greatly appreciated. 1- finish putting field boards out 2- arena board repair 3- Juans barn repairs 4- trash/debris tossed into dumpsters or reclaimed from barn demo (cans, plywood, timber, hot water heater in middle tack room) 5- old septic pit back filled and picket fence removed (old tank from clubhouse on arena side) 6- new toilet replaced in school 6.5 bathroom cleaned and painted 7- paint exterior of arena boards and replacement boards 8- lock added to Tomas old tack room 9- reclaim/refurbish tack room behind Shaun McCauley 10- repair playground 11- army trailer scrapped 12- arena drug/re-graded 13 - repair/check announcers stands. This list will put us in a good position for the start of the season. Barn Update: The polo office rebuild is complete as well as barn demolition and excavation. Reconstruction of the barn commences on Monday with 32 stalls and 3-4 tack rooms in the design. For this final phase we will be using all of the Polo Ball money and more with three Board Members loaning the club money towards the reconstruction to the tune of another $50,000-$80,000 on top of the storm damage and polo office repairs. The best way to continue our progress is to help ensure we have a successful season for members, visitors, and staff. Please bring along: Gloves Hand tools Power tools, particularly drills Shovels/spades Rakes Post hole diggers and tampers Saw horses Ladders Pickup trucks Flatbed trailers Etc. Please let us know if you can make it by replying to this email or calling the polo hotline. Many hands will make for light work; lets keep on schedule. As always, let us know if you have any questions (info@BrandywinePolo or 610.268.8692). Thanks, Brandywine Polo Club
