For those of you who care and for those of you that dont, Im - TopicsExpress

For those of you who care and for those of you that dont, Im letting you know I had to help Oscar to the Rainbow Bridge last Monday. Since his hinders hardly worked at all, he was bruising himself when dragging over the computer chair legs and such. He came over Sunday night and laid down beside me on the carpet, laying his head up against my foot. Since he had never done that in his entire life, I figured he was telling me it was time. We called Monday and made an appointment for 5:30 that evening. Ive never had to do that before...make an appointment. Its always been more of an emergency type thing where I would take them to vet and find out there it was time. Anyway, the waiting was the hardest part. We piddle-farted around during the morning and took a nap in the afternoon together. All my kids get what I call a last supper, and he decided he wanted an Arbys roast beast sandwich. As we were in line waiting for it, he also asked for a small chocolate milkshake. Of course he got both and we went to the park to eat. He ate his sandwich and half his milkshake and then took some time to drag around a small area of grass before finishing the rest of his milkshake. By then the milkshake had melted some and I had to wipe his mouth after every bite because it was drooling out the sides lol. We headed for the vets office, and since he had just eaten, he was good enough to leave the vet one last present in the floor :) . He got a pre-med shot, and as he was falling asleep with that, I sang him his Mumblebee song and told him how much I loved him and what a good boy he was. He had been my best friend for 15 1/2 years, and my heart broke. My heart has broken with every one of my kids that have gone to the Bridge, but its always healed up enough to get by. I dont know if its going to heal from this one; I dont think so. I just feel empty and alone, even with Ciara here. Ive done okay, except for the time I got in the car and saw his napkin. I totally lost it and couldnt go where I was going to go. I got to go pick up his ashes today, and I got a cute little clay plaque with his paw print and name on it. I have to bake it to make it set. Most of my kids are stars in the Heavens now, as they wait at the Bridge. Some are twinkling and sassy. Some are soft and glowing. Oscar is the only one that is a shooting star. He used to love to run. The zoomies were his favorite thing. He liked itty bitty toys - almost like cat toys - to play with, and he would run and run in circles and figure eights around the furniture with a little toy in his mouth. As he would go past me, I would clap my hands and reach down to grab his butt, and he would be so tickled when he went fast enough that I couldnt touch him. So when you see a shooting star, please clap your hands to let him know that you see him and youre going to grab his butt if he doesnt go faster. Hell like that a lot.
