For those of you who have lain awake night after night wondering what a custom-fitted Swedish foam mattress for a Dachshund puppy crate looks like, here one is. (Armin and Barbara, is lain the correct past participle?) Now for those of you who think I have more dollars than cents (sense?), relax. I did not have to spend that kind of money on the dog. After ~200 years of service the old horse-hair mattress on my old four-poster finally died, so I had to have a new one made. The owner of the mattress company met Mathilde at the house and decided Matty should have one too, which she made out of the scraps from my new mattress. Alas, even with a Swedish foam mattress, Matty does not like her crate and has taken over the 18th Century four-poster. And yes, I get to sleep in the crate!
