For those of you who have seen my video of my competition, particularly my first match, here is an interesting story and an example of why Brazilian Jui Jitsu is so awesome. Today I responded to a structure fire in the wee hours of the morning and Im on the phone by my company truck explaining my investigation. A car pulls up and I continue talking on the phone, I look at the driver and he looks at me. I figure it is some claims adjuster, but the face looks familiar but I cant place it, he looks at me and gives me the same expression. I still cant remember where Ive seen this face. Then he yells out in an Australian accent, hey mate! (still nothing) remember me killer? I stayed quiet...then he said, we fought and you kicked my ass! Then it all came to me, I smiled and said oh yeah, but I think you kicked my ass!! He was the guy I fought in my first match. He parked, we shook hands and hugged (a manly hug) as if we were long lost friends. He was there to give the lady a quote for the fire restoration, but we talked about our match and BJJ for about 20 mins....Small world. I was thinking about this while I was doing the yard and it still brought brought a smile to my face. OSS!!
