For those of you with tattoos (this one is published): Etched In Skin Some call us freaks, while others call us delinquents or weirdos We have chosen not to conform to society and to stand out in the crowd Our lives are etched into our skin...our past, present and future These are memories that we can look back on and remember the good days We dont frame our art, we etch it into our skin and wear it proudly It is displayed on the perfect canvas for all to see We were born with the most beautiful canvas for us to utilize And we utilize it to the point of no return Permanently marking it with ink and gorgeous images We are the ones that try harder to fit into society...we have to Discrimination is always biting at our backs We are scorned and beat down and labeled “freaks” We dare to be different, therefore society chooses not to accept us We have etched our lives into our skins with no regrets Time will age us and change our thoughts and bodies But we will never regret the reminders etched into our skin Reminders of good times and good memories of so long ago Why should we hide our memories because you find them offensive? What is offensive to you, is a beautiful thing to us We are the broken down, the scorned, and the oppressed Never will we deny who we are We will always stand out and apart from the crowd We are the bold and the strong And we will fight until the bitter end to prove your stereotypes wrong And we will never regret that which we have etched into our skin
