For those who have been taking fresh garlic or any strong - TopicsExpress

For those who have been taking fresh garlic or any strong stimulant-like herb regularly... What happens to you if you take a week/month break from it? I was heavily into ensuring that I had daily fresh garlic cloves, ever since I read about it clearing up the mucus. (Previous to that, I was a heavy-garlic eater anyway, just loved it.. cooked or grilled.. yum..) When I started adding the daily raw garlic clove(s), I must say that I did notice that it helped me expel more from my lungs when I was at my worst, helped with breaking up the mucus, but what is it doing for me now that Im no longer expelling anything? Recently, I havent had any access to Australian-grown garlic (only imported from China garlic), so I havent purchased any for the past approximately 2 months (Ive seen the photos - I cant eat their food). I want to know if its just me or do I actually feel better now that I havent been taking any? I dont think its a direct response to not taking any.. no.. or maybe.. but my thoughts are more leaning towards thinking that I no longer need it. I remember when I was coughing up to a litre of mucus per day when my lungs was going through the detox/cleanout phase.. it took months, but some combination of whatever I happened to be doing right finally worked, and I finally got rid of all the lung congestion. But now that the worst is over and I no longer get that big clean-out response from my body, I dont think I need to add garlic or any other very strong herb. Maybe Id still have it if I had a cold or flu or something, I havent really thought about it, but I can see myself reaching for it if I was sick, but while Im well, I dont think its an.. um.. you know.. something that you need to regularly add, maybe just when the body needs a bit of a jolt.. for like short bursts at a time. I dont know.. just something I started thinking about tonight... maybe I just need some sleep :) But still curious to learn what other peoples experiences are with herbs, in particular strong stimulants like garlic, ginger, hot peppers, etc.. & Im also curious as to whether any other herbs have helped when you needed it, or herbs that youve taken temporarily while doing a lung-cleanse or cold/flu cleanse, etc... yet might just be herbs that you dont feel you need to take all the time, just in times of *crisis*..
