For those who may have seen a posting of this, or heard about it, yes, the Peshmerga (Kurdish forces) have had women combat units since 1983. Check out the link for the story, and if you have a few minutes to watch the documentary on the page, it is worth your attention to understand that there are good people with Western ideals of freedom and liberty in the Middle East (guess what, some Kurds are Muslim, but some are Christians) and these are whom, amidst all this Islamic State insanity, we should be arming and defending! In fact if our administration continues to ignore the threat, these are the people I would be proud to stand and fight with, as their President says they will bow to no one and, if necessary, defend their way of life ...to the bitter end.
