For those who might care to know, the shathabhishekam ceremony of my parents went off grandly and solemnly. I will not be posting pictures on Facebook for a public exhibition since it is an event that is very dear to my heart. I thank all of you, those who are in and out of facebook, who accepted my humble invitation and came, contributed their presence and lent value to the event. I also thank everyone who could not physically be present, but were here by heart and wished the event a grand success, those who promised to be here but could not or did not, those who roundly ignored the invitation and chose to look the other way, and finally those who perhaps worked actively to see that the event fails. Because of you all, despite you all, it was a great fortune that I could organise an event that one gets to organise but rarely, in these day of uncertainties. Both parents should be alive and well till the father has seen a thousand moons, both of them should be together and united(which again may not always be the case these days), there should be children, the children should be united and willing, they should have the material means to perform the vedic rituals in full, there should be the vedic and human resources available, the circumstances should be favourable, no unforeseen accidents should interrupt the event...............too many uncertainties, too many preventing factors for comfort. In short death comes to everyone, but a shathabhishekam comes to few. And this, I am sure will be the last Shathabhishekam in our family, since I and the people who come now on will not be able to meet all these conditions, nor will the tradition survive modernity. Even if I have been singularly unfortunate and unsuccessful in in all walks of life, personal, professional, physical, financial, intellectual, spiritual, emotional and social, this one rare good fortune overrides a lot of pains and I had to suffer. . सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः । सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु मा कश्चित् दुःखभाक् भवेत् ॥ ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः !!
