==For those who reside in Southern Hemisphere - How to meet Ramadan?== It seems that Muslims who reside in Southern hemisphere dont have to fast Ramadan in July. In Quran Shahr Ramadan* means Scorching month, it cant be in winter, for those who live in the southern hemisphere and witness the summer solstice in December-January. How do we know when the scorching month starts? -By the sun and its brightness (91:1). The day of the summer solistice is the brightest day of the Sun, because it shines on the ground at a 90° angle. And also the shadows are in their shortest forms. The verse 25:45 talks about the relation between the Sun and the shadows. As we know the Quran was revelead in the scorching month. The 9:81 talks about the fake muslims not wanting to go to war with Muhammad because of the hot wheather. Then the 9:86 talks about a sura being revealed. All these facts show that the month of Ramadan should always be in the summer, i.e. June-July for northern hemysphere residents and december-January for Southern hemisphere residents (Pasific timezones). *word Ramaḍān is taken from the word ramad which means that which is intensely or vehemently heated by the sun. And the word ramdhaa means the intense heat of the sun. Shahru Ramadan means month if intense heat of the scorching sun, which cant be in winter times.
