For those who wanted to know... James G. "Jimmy" Shepherd Jr. James G. "Jimmy" Shepherd Jr., 55, of Martinsville, passed away as the result of a logging accident on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 in Martinsville. He was born April 22, 1958 in Wilmington, son of James Gilbert and Betty (Dalton) Shepherd Sr., who survive in Martinsville. He married Jane Wesley Shepherd, who passed away Nov. 28, 2012. Jimmy worked as a logger for the Shepherd Logging Company. In addition to his parents, other surviving family members are his children, Jamie (Stephanie) Shepherd, Greenfield, Jessica Shepherd, Westboro, Stacie (Eric) Meiser, Blanchester, Howie (Robin) Grosnickle, Owensville, Ky., Kimberly Grosnickle, Milford; several grandchildren; two sisters, Jackie Stone, Carrabelle, Fla., Janet Smith, New Vienna and brother, Jeff Shepherd, Martinsville. In addition to his wife, Jimmy was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Mae Shepherd; two uncles, Larry and Davey Shepherd and an aunt, Faye Ashley. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington. Interment will follow in the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Martinsville. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington.
