For those who were lucky enough to be there or watch the live stream of the Polaris Awards on Monday night, my crazy little friend Tanya Tagaq won the the Polaris Prize but more importantly her live performance was extraordinary!!! It was transcendent, transforming, transfixing and incendiary! Its like a huge crack suddenly opened up in Canadian music and a crazy new world spilled out. CANADIAN MUSIC CHANGED ON MONDAY NIGHT.
