For years Ive followed, marvelled at, been inspired by and full on ripped off the work of Massimo Vignelli. There isnt a designer alive who doesnt know his name and everyone has seen, used or heard of his work (probably without knowing it was him). This documentary is a fantastic tribute to his and Lellas work, a tremendous shortcut to their portfolio and simple explanation of their ethos, approach and process. The two most important lessons in design that I ever learned were both from Massimo; If you can design one thing, you can design everything and If you cant find it, design it. This will appeal to some more than others, but I recommend it to those who appreciate logic, commitment and timeless solutions.
