For years the electricity supplier in Perth has been telling us all to use less electricity to help the environment and reduce our costs. The State Government has encouraged this action and now because many WA families have invested in solar technology to reduce our electricity bills and help the environment , Synergy and Western Power are bleating - ohhhhh it is costing us too much - so we want to increase fixed charges to bypass the responsible solar generating households and charge more. They also charge an outrageous fee for a meter change over so we can sell them power AND charge a fee $36 as an application fee for us to sell the power to them. If the pricing regularity body tells the Government it s ok to increase and the Govt agrees- then watch for a public outcry. Be strong Energy Minister and reject the calls for price increases and insist on increases in efficiencies by the suppliers. I look forward to other WA comments.
