Ford’s fiscal record is generally solid, his instincts generally sound. He has battled union entrenchment and preferences. He drove privatization of garbage collection and pushed tax freezes and a reversal of the $60 vehicle tax. He helped tear up the possibly illegal Jarvis bike lanes. Unions can’t stand the man....Despite his flaws, Mayor Ford has helped undermine the decades-long hammerlock the social policy left (and their squishy red-tory accomplices) have had over Toronto politics for decades. That’s a good thing. Damn right. Finally lets look past the crack and scandal and ask the question - has rob ford delivered on his campaign promise to squeeze and reform city hall...
