Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure lies over Tasmania with a high centre to the east and a second centre to the west. The eastern high becomes dominant during today with a northerly flow over Tasmania and trough deepening over Victoria. A cold front will cross the state during tomorrow afternoon bringing a cooler southwesterly change. A high to the west steadily approaches Tasmania Saturday pushing a ridge through Bass Strait.
