Weather Situation A deep low well to the south of Tasmania is currently directing a cool westerly flow over the state, which will turn colder southwesterly tomorrow morning as a cold front crosses the state and a high approaches from the west. This high will continue to slowly approach on Thursday with cold to very cold conditions persisting before the high moves across the state overnight. The high should then move slowly away to the east on Friday, as a trough associated with a low south of the Bight approaches Tasmania from the northwest, expected to weaken over Bass Strait on Saturday.
