Forecast for Wednesday June 12th, 2013 - Southeastern PA / Philadelphia area A weak high pressure system will be position over the area creating partly cloudy skies on Wednesday. Winds will become northwesterly to northerly throughout the day. Temperatures aloft will be mixed down to the surface allowing afternoon temperatures to rise higher than Tuesdays max. In the morning on Wednesday, temperatures will drop down into mid to upper 60s. During the afternoon, clear skies and light winds will allow temperatures rise up into the low to mid 80s. Future Forecast: A small trough over the Midwest is aiding in the creation of a mesoscale system. This system is modeled to become a large mesoscale complex system and slowly move into the Ohio River Valley. Severe weather is likely with the formation of tornadoes possible. The storm prediction center currently has a moderate chance for severe weather for Ohio and western PA. This system will translate eastward on Thursday bringing heavy rain to our region.
