Forgive!! Thats the word for today. I was sitting there last night contemplating whether I want to say that this year has been a good year...a part of me wanted to think about some things that happened that really hurt me. But the Holy Spirit woke me this morning and said...why hasnt this yet been a good year? You have blood in your veins, you have breath in your body, you survived, youve been blessed despite it all!!! Thank you Lord! And he took me to the first time the word forgive was used in the Bible...Genesis 50:17...where Joseph was asked to forgive his brothers. Joseph said you meant it for evil but God meant it for good!! The word forgive in Hebrew means to lift up, to exalt, to carry!!! Wow, to forgive you...I have to carry you and lift you, encourage you, pray sincerely for you, not that God deal harshly with you but that God increase you, bless you! People Im not making this up!!! Thats what the word means!!! It doesnt just mean to accept what a person did and let it go...it means to literally carry that person and to lift them up!!!!!! My my my my...Im about to shout!!! And thats exactly what Joseph did...instead of hurting his brothers he lifted them up...the Bible says he nourished them!!! The last point I want to make about forgiveness is take a look at the word for-give...the word for carries two meanings as a prefix...it means complete and it means prior or before...and the word give means to let something go. To give you have to let it go from you. So lets put it all together ...I believe forgiveness also means to completely...before...let it go which means when I truly walk in love and forgiveness, I have already forgiven everyone and everything that has happened to me BEFORE it actually happened and I let it go completely!!!!!!!!!!! Forgiveness must be complete and it must be given freely! Thank you Lord! I forgive all completely! This is what Jesus did!! Before I came into existence he already forgave me of everything I was ever going to do to people and to HIM. And He did it completely!!!! He gave it and never looked back! Now its my turn and my time...I will forgive! Its been a great year people!! A very great year!! Thanks Elder Christopher J. Hinton Sr.! Your kind words stirred something up in me! God bless everyone today! Dont get too caught up with seeing Jesus in the manger that you forget that He is now on the Throne!!!!
