Forgive another non-bike run thread diluting the page. Todays blast furnace-like ride home at around 1pm in 37 or so degrees did make me wonder about riding gear for extremely hot dry conditions. I rode 80km and was certainly experiencing dehydration by the end. What have other members found that protect and also stop you overheating. This was not for recreation, this is my daily journey each way - so staying out of the heat is not an option. There is no car backup either. Id hate to have been outward bound and still had the 80km return to deal with. If it improves the relevance, how about I just say that anyone heading to Rockingham from the Nollamarra area in the early morning is welcome to join me - I do the long way around the coast. Feels more like youre going on a holiday than going to work when its not about shaving an extra tenth off your PB. I stop for a coffee too sometimes.
