Forgot to update tim status yesterday. Days are starting to run together! Timmy update: ive been good and havent cried in front of timmy but yesterday almost got me. Yesterday mom and I made one of our many little trips to the surgical icu to find out he has a fever of 101 because his body is working so hard. I opened the velcro on his little pillow mitten that keeps him from grabbing anything. We were holding hands and I was stroking the back of it with my index finger. I know hes aware even under all the pain meds and the fever. I thought he was pulling his hand away but he just flipped his hand over and mimicked the petting motion back to me almost like he was comforting me. He had me and mom laughing too because mom told him he looked so cute when he yawned. Next thing you know he was yawning like crazy. Another good thing. He is able to crack his eyes open despite his eyelids being so swollen...no talking yet because his tracheal tube did a number on his throat. His daily nurse (liz) did booby trap his bed by safety pinning a string to his hospital gown to his emergency call button. Sly little guy keeps trying to get out of bed. Mom told me he figured out there were several ways to get his mittens off. He started struggling yesterday and mom told him to calm down.....he responded by chilling out and crossing his ankles like he was the picture of cool. Mom sat there quiet for a few minutes watching him. Because his eyes are still closed he thought no one was in the room. Know what he did? He whipped his foot up to his hand and resumed getting busy at trying to get the mitten off. Punk. Even under all those meds hes still a trouble maker. Love you Tim Unsderfer.
