Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is obviously running for President since he’s bashing the Obamas’ parenting skills. Republicans always offer a who hates on Obama more type of campaign. Lest we forget: Huckabee’s son murdered a dog. But never mind all that, the Obamas are bad parents because of Beyoncé. In an interview published Tuesday, Huckabee said that the first family shelters its daughters from some things but allows them to listen to the music of Beyoncé. While promoting his new book “God, Guns, Grits and Gravy”, the former Baptist pastor told People magazine, “I don’t understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything — how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school … and yet they don’t see anything that might not be suitable” in Beyoncé’s lyrics. He also said Beyoncé’s choreography is “best left for the privacy of her bedroom.” Yahoo reports, ‘In his book, Huckabee describes the Grammy Award-winning Beyoncé’s lyrics as “obnoxious and toxic mental poison.” He also accuses Beyoncé’s husband, rapper Jay-Z, of “exploiting his wife” like a “pimp.”‘ The first lady’s office declined to comment on Huckabee’s comments, and that’s probably because she doesn’t care what Huckabee thinks. During a 2012, $40,000-per-ticket fundraiser in New York, the president thanked Beyoncé and Jay-Z for their friendship. “Beyoncé could not be a better role model for my girls,” Obama said. Beyoncé sang at Barack Obama’s second inauguration, as well at Mrs. Obama’s 50th birthday party at the White House… Huckabee recently stepped down from his role as host of a weekend program on Fox News Channel. He ran for president in 2008, considered running in 2012, and has said he’s weighing whether to seek the GOP nomination in 2016. If he enters the contest, he has a strong network of pastors in the early states who can help mobilize their faithful. That network helped him win the lead-off Iowa caucuses in 2008, as well as earn victories in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Tennessee and West Virginia. I don’t know much about Huckabee’s family and I wouldn’t think to disparage them normally, however, he did bring it up, so I wonder how many table cloths they murdered in the picture above. There’s just nothing to hate here: About that dog. Snopes reports: A years-old bit of political gossip was brought back into the limelight in January 2015 when former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, in an interview promoting his new book, publicly criticized the parenting skills of the First Couple, Barack and Michelle Obama. Many pundits were quick to point out an incident that was much discussed during Huckabee’s 2008 presidential campaign, one touted as calling Huckabee’s own parenting skills into question. On 11 July 1998, two young men working as counselors at Camp Pioneer in Hatfield, Arkansas, killed a dog at that Boy Scout camp. One of those young men was 19-year-old Clayton Frady of Texarkana and the other David Huckabee, the youngest son of Arkansas Governor Michael Dale “Mike” Huckabee. David Huckabee was 17 at the time of the slaying, although he would turn 18 less than two weeks later. Both young men were fired over the incident. And that is where the undisputed facts of the story leave off. All the rest of the details, including why the dog was killed, how the dog was killed, and whether Governor Huckabee attempted (successfully or otherwise) to forestall investigations into his son’s act, is up for grabs and may never be knowable. While the dog itself was consistently described as a stray that had wandered onto the property, the only additional description of it came from Marcal Young, scout executive of the Caddo Area Council that operated the camp where the animal was killed, who said the canine was “probably a mixed breed.” I wonder if Huckabee sees Obama as a “mixed breed,” too. Malia and Sasha have not murdered the First Dog and both girls appear to be well adjusted considering the unwarranted hatred that’s been foisted upon them. Naturally, Huckabee praises the Duggars’ parenting skills. Maybe if Malia and Sasha had gotten pregnant, thus becoming breeding vessels, Huck would then appreciate the Obamas’ parenting skills.
