Former Bishop Hartley teacher and coach (1981-2009), Kevin Ryan will commence the Advent season and launch his new book with an Advent evening of reflection, “And the Word became Flesh.” The prayerful and encouraging gathering, free and open to the public, is scheduled for December 1, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the St. James Chapel of Bishop Hartley High School. Ryan, who now teaches a course on spirituality at The Ohio State University and instructs yoga while he continues to encourage spiritual growth through his “Aiding in the Discovery of the Divine” campaign, recently published his second book, an interreligious study of prayer and spirituality within a nonreligious context, Praying All That You Are With All That Is: A Spirituality of Prayer.
